Coaching Update

With Lockdown #2 imminent we wanted to confirm that coaching will continue until Wednesday evening as normal.

From Thursday we are not 100% clear on what will and won't be permitted - the LTA are however currently lobbying the government to allow tennis, in some format, to continue due to the obvious physical and mental benefits that have been so evident since courts opened up again in May after the first lockdown.

It is likely that group coaching at least will have to be suspended from 5th November until the 2nd December 2020.

We are committed to ensuring that you/your child get their lessons between now and the end of the year. As a direct debit customer 7 weeks of coaching was due to be delivered between now and 31 December and it is our intention to do so, by offering extended sessions, extra sessions during the school Christmas holidays to make up these 4 hours. The coaching break was scheduled to commence on Monday 21st December so we have flexibility to run some sessions during the holiday period or even in the new year. The benefits of this are that firstly you/your child still get their tennis and that we can sustain the coaching programme and support our dedicated team of self employed coaches at the club.

We want to be in a position to bounce back from this set-back and continue to provide an essential outlet for people, both physically and mentally, during these incredibly tough times.

Likewise if you have just booked a course of 6 sessions, for example Tennis Xpress course, we will hold these back and continue these from December 3rd onwards so you will not miss out on any sessions.

We will do our very best to deliver this but are somewhat in the hands of the government at this time. We expect to have definitive guidance from the LTA by the end of Wednesday and will update you with this on Thursday.

We thank all of you for your support and patience in such challenging times.
